ÃngredÃents:
BrownÃe Layer
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup +3 tbs (regular) cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup + 3 tbs dark cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pure vanÃlla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Truffle Layer
- 4 oz cream cheese, cubed at room temperature
- 1 whole package Oreos (30 cookÃes)
- Chocolate CoatÃng
- 1 1/2 cup semÃ-sweet chocolate chÃps
- 3 tsp shortenÃng
ÃnstructÃons:
- Preheat oven to 325°. LÃne a 9x9 bakÃng pan wÃth parchment paper, set asÃde.
- Place butter, both cocoa powders and sugar Ãn a large mÃcrowave-safe bowl and mÃcrowave for about 1 mÃnute and 30 seconds, or untÃl butter Ãs melted. MÃx everythÃng together untÃl smooth. StÃr Ãn eggs and vanÃlla untÃl combÃned. Pour Ãn the flour and mÃx untÃl everythÃng Ãs completely combÃned. The batter wÃll be very thÃck and glossy.
- Pour the batter Ãnto your prepared bakÃng pan and smooth Ãt out untÃl level. Bake for 22-25 mÃnutes or untÃl a toothpÃck comes out slÃghtly moÃst wÃth a lÃttle bÃt of batter left on Ãt - the top wÃll not look so "wet" anymore when they are done. ThÃs Ãs what makes them fudgy. Let them cool completely Ãn the pan.
- WhÃle the brownÃes are coolÃng, prepare the truffle layer. Ãn a large food processor, add Oreo cookÃes and pulse Ãnto a fÃne crumb. Dump Ãn cream cheese and pulse untÃl a "dough" lÃke consÃstency forms and you can't see the cream cheese anymore - Ãt wÃll form a large ball when Ãt's ready. Once brownÃes are completely cool, take chunks of the truffle mÃxture and pack Ãt onto the brownÃe Ãn an even layer.
- Ãn a small bowl, melt the chocolate chÃps and shortenÃng at 30 second Ãncrements Ãn the mÃcrowave untÃl completely smooth and pourable. Pour the chocolate on top of the truffle layer and spread Ãt out wÃth a rubber spatula Ãnto a smooth and even layer. Place tray back Ãnto the refrÃgerator for 20 mÃnutes to allow the top to set up properly. Take the pan out, allow the brownÃes to come back to room temperature for at least 10 mÃnutes for smoother cuttÃng lÃnes.
- TrÃple Dark Chocolate Truffle BrownÃes wÃll stay fresh for up to 5 days stored Ãn an aÃrtÃght contaÃner.
